Dimitris Tsalkanis

Born and lives in Athens. Studied Art and History of Art in the Fine Arts and Art Sciences Department in the University of Ioannina and the School of Fine Arts of Ioannina, and had his Master's Degree (MSc in Postproduction with Visual Effects) in the Theatre, Film and Television Department in the University of York.

The basic fields of interest are: production-postproduction in cinema and TV (editing, visual effects, colouring, 2d and 3d animation etc), professional and artistic photography, history-archaeology (digital heritage, 3d reconstructions). Involved in many films (short and feature), tv shows, spots, museum videos and music videos, in all the stages of production.

In the field of 3d archaeological reconstructions he has taken part into projects for various Ephorates of Antiquities, museums, municipalities and the Ministry of Culture. He is also creator of the website www.AncientAthens3d.com.

Works as a vfx artist - video editor, 3d artist, photographer and also taught for four years as a adjunct lecturer in the Department of Photography and Audiovisual Arts in the TEI of Athens.
